Pitru Dosh or Ancestral Blessings?
According to Krishna Guruji, what is often labeled in astrology as “Pitru Dosh” is not a defect, but a spiritual reminder. It signals unresolved ancestral energy, and with awareness, we can convert this into ancestral healing.
What is Pitru Pranayama?
Pitru Pranayama is a sacred version of Anulom Vilom Pranayama that involves conscious remembrance of ancestors during every breath cycle. It is not just a breathing practice—it is a spiritual offering of love and gratitude.
Connection with Anulom Vilom and Ancestral Healing
This technique is deeply rooted in Anulom Vilom, where alternate nostril breathing helps balance energy channels. Pitru Pranayama goes beyond that by offering breath as a tool for ancestral healing, helping resolve karmic burdens and invite divine blessings.
How to Practice Pitru Pranayama
- Sit in Sukhasana or Padmasana with your spine straight.
- Form Vishuddha Mudra using your right hand (ring and pinky fingers to control nostrils).
- Inhale through the left nostril while visualizing your mother’s face.
- Hold the breath and mentally connect with both parents.
- Exhale through the right nostril while visualizing your father’s face.
- Inhale through the right nostril and remember your paternal grandfather.
- Hold the breath and recall both grandparents.
- Exhale through the left nostril and express gratitude to your maternal grandmother.
- Repeat this 11, 21, or 51 times with devotion.
Key Guidelines
- Best done at sunrise, facing east.
- Stay silent after the practice to absorb the effect.
- If ancestor names are known, chant them mentally.
- Practicing during Shraddha Paksha or Amavasya enhances its impact.
Benefits of Pitru Pranayama
- Heals ancestral karma through conscious breathwork.
- Reduces subconscious fear and emotional heaviness.
- Fosters harmony, unity, and family healing.
- Connects you to your roots and spiritual gratitude.
Applying Pitru Pranayama in Modern Life
In today’s fast-paced world, many people feel disconnected from their ancestors. This often manifests as emotional instability, family conflict, or unexplained psychological burdens. Practicing Pitru Pranayama daily can help restore this lost connection and bring inner peace. When combined with prayer and meditation, it offers a complete path for ancestral healing.
