Kaliyug Puran Chapter — Explained for Modern Minds
Introduction
In today’s fast-paced world, the mind is restless, memories are fleeting, intellect often overthinks, and conscience gets ignored.
But how can one truly understand the difference among these four — Mind, Memory, Intellect, and Conscience (Vivek)?
Krishna Guruji explains this in a very simple yet powerful way through a story from Kaliyug Puran.
A Story to Understand the Four Powers
Gyanchand, a disciple, was traveling to meet his Guru.
Suddenly, his Memory (Smriti) reminded him —
“Oh! I forgot to bring fruits for Guruji!”
The Mind (full of emotions) quickly suggested —
“Let’s go and buy fruits now.”
But Intellect (Buddhi) intervened —
“If you stop now, you may miss your flight. Think wisely!”
A conflict arose.
Mind said “Yes”, Intellect said “No”.
Finally, Conscience (Vivek) took the decision —
“Meeting Guruji on time is more important. You can offer fruits later. Keep going.”
Gyanchand followed his Vivek and peacefully continued his journey.
Krishna Guruji’s Explanation
Guruji explained beautifully:
Mind is the seat of desires, impulses, and emotions.
Memory simply recalls and reminds, but does not decide.
Intellect analyses and judges right from wrong.
Conscience (Vivek) gives the final command — What should be done now.
In simple words:
Mind wants → Intellect debates → Conscience decides.

Message for Kaliyug
In Kaliyug, where desires and distractions dominate,
only Conscience (Vivek) can guide you on the path of righteousness.
The one who acts as per Vivek amidst confusion is the true Yogi and wise person.
In this age, let your Vivek rule over the mind and intellect.
Practice awareness, patience and clarity in decisions.
Krishna Guruji’s divine teachings in Kaliyug Puran remind us:
“When the mind wavers and intellect doubts, listen to the still voice of your Conscience.”
