Indore Ganesh Utsav: 7th Year of “Andhan Ko Aankh Det” – Vighnaharta 2025

Indore, 24 August 2025 — Under the guidance of spiritual mentor Krishna Guruji, the 10-day Ganesh Utsav begins on 27 August. This year, the festival is once again tied to human service through the “Vighnaharta 2025 Samman”, honouring social heroes who removed real obstacles from people’s lives.

Krishna Guruji believes that Lord Ganesha is not only the remover of obstacles but also a symbol of seva (service). Turning the message of the Ganesh Aarti into action, the initiative will recognise individuals and groups whose compassionate work has brought dignity and relief to others.

• 27 August: Ganesh sthapana (installation) at the Leprosy Ashram, Doctor Colony, Indore. On the same day, caregiver Jasta Bai will receive the Vighnaharta 2025 Trophy.
• 27 Aug – 6 Sep: Each day, one social worker/humanitarian will be felicitated at their residence or workplace.

🕉 Aarti Wordings — A Respectful Update

Guruji appeals to all devotees to adopt a respectful, progressive wording in the traditional aarti:

Replace “Baanjhan ko putra det” with “Baanjhan ko garbh det”,

so that the aarti itself carries dignity and scientific sensitivity.

🌿 Festival Connected with Human Service

This is the 7th year of the campaign “Andhan Ko Aankh Det, Kodhan Ko Kaya”, through which Krishna Guruji connects festivals with service to humanity. The initiative has received appreciation not only in India but also internationally.
